It’s summer in the PNW! We trekked westward to the coast to visit Oswald State Park, where we did a (longer than expected) hike to reach Cape Falcon point. We were lucky enough to see a humpback whale surface off the point every few minutes. Sweet!

We decided to forgo the long beach hike and head into town to cool our toes. Cannon beach was our next destination.

Liz definitely needed a swim and would chase anything tossed into the tide pool, as long as it did not drift past chest-deep.

To reward this hard work, we stopped at a brewery for burgers and a pint. This was also the perfect opportunity to celebrate Sarahi winning a T32 fellowship (see yesterday’s post). Nice work Sarahi!
With a tired puppy and full bellies, we headed back home. Great day, folks!
